advantages of employment in the government?

- you must be kidding ? you can't ever get fired. it's a divine appointment LOL. good benefits too.
- Mildred is right! And your spouse is taken care of also when you die!! Now you know why the Democrat-controlled congress just gave themselves another raise, eh?
- Unless, your caught stealing or kill someone, you can't get fired, benefits, 11 paid holladays. (Fed)
- Low chance of ever becoming Unemployed so you have a steady paycheck that only gets small raises controlled by congress and with stabilty you can safely make financial decisions, so you ignore the realestate agent that tell you how you could get twice the house, use an adjustable rate mortgage, because you know your company is going to give you triple diget pay raises every year. Oh your a stock boy well I'm sure you'll be president in three years when the rates go up. Best Benifits your going to find, good health care, retirement, ect. and you actually can get a day off on some of those NATIONAL Holidays. Yes you pay might be lower but add it all up, if you have a family the health benifits are probably worth a good 15.000 a year compared to what you get when you pay for it, the retirement is better then the one most companies offer, and no you don't have to put money in before the company actually has any costs toward your retirement.
- A friend of mine from High School went to work for the government. I was actually surprised by the choice and asked him about it. "Open," (that's really my real life name, you know) he said, "You remember how the teachers alwasy drilled into us that saying 'If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem'?" "Yes," I said "but..." "Well, I realized I'm not going to be part of the solution, so I decided to be part of the problem."
