Which path should I take to get into the FBI or any other federal law enforcement agency?
I want to know which path do you think/know would best qualify me for a federal job in law enforcement (FBI, DEA, ATF, DSS, etc...) I will have a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice/Political Science very soon. Choices: -Path#1: Work on a Master's in Criminal Justice and get a full-time job with a local police department; then apply for FBI in a few years. -Path#2: Attend law school for 3 years; then apply for the FBI. -Path#3: Join the Marines as an officer (maybe work in military police), perhaps work on a Master's degree while in; then apply for the FBI when I get out. Thanks for any advice. I'm going to talk to an actual agent soon; just interested in what you ppl think.

- All are good choices. You can apply for jobs in Homeland Security; Immigration and Customs Enforcement, etc, to gain knowledge on investigative techniques. Sometimes actual job experience surpasses school. Good luck to you !
- Go #3
- I would take path # 3. I am a CJ student now, and I am halfway through my BA degree. I have so far racked up over $40, 000 in student loans. Military will pay for your degree with an inlistment of up to four years I believe. Plus the experience is great on a resume.
- what ever path you want to choose, make sure you live a clean life. You can't be in Law enforcement if you have a dirty life.
