What can we do to Stop Mandatory Real ID- National USA Identy Card?
Without this National ID, you won't... * Drive your car * Board a plane, train, or bus * Enter any federal building * Open a bank account * Hold a job It Includes an RFID Global Positioning System, your religion, sex, age, where you live, where and when you were born, your height, blood type and more!... :-0 The Real ID Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Bush on May 11, 2005, mandates that all U.S. citizens will receive a National ID card by May of 2008. How can we stop this thing?

- I already have to have a SS card, a drivers license and a passport.
- Unless you are a criminal why would you want to stop it?
- Why would you want to stop it??? If your a "Real American", what problem do you have getting a "Real American I.D."?? Only illegals immigrants & Terrorist would have a problem with this...hmmmm??
- And if nothing happens by then will you willingly go back on your meds?
- It may be a good replacement for your SOS card
- There is no "national identity card" being issued. What's happening is the drivers licenses are being standardized in terms of the information included, security features, etc. These changes were supposed to take place by May 11, 2008 but the deadline has beet pushed out to 2011.
- By backing the ACLU and other orgs that are against it. By letting congress no who we want in the supreme court. What this is doing is eliminitaing the middle man from making profit. This will enable corporate america to continue milking the system. The REAL Id reason. Yeah, you do have a point, however, some do deserve to be led.
- As long as they don't try to put it in or on my body I don't really care..None of the information you mention in the Internet Age is unknown anyway! And I know we have to do something to keep outselves relatively safe. You complain but give mo indication you a better solution.
- Don't go get one? I haven't heard of where I would get one. But don't worry this is just part of the slow process so when the Chinnese take over we'll all be good commies. If you look through what % say its ok, if your not a criminal you shouldn't have nothing to worry about ect. that is the attitude of why these laws are getting passed. don't worry give it a few years, I'm sure its currently being tested, we will all have chips implanted, but then just think of the advantage of that over the cards, they can just scan us and save us the trouble of digging through our wallets. Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin "Can the liberties of a nation be sure when we remove their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people, that these liberties are a gift from God? Thomas Jefferson "Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington
- Call your State rep. More than 17 states have passed legislation to not support it... http://epic.org/privacy/id-cards/ http://epic.org/privacy/rfid/
- Nothing, it was foretold thousands of years ago. You will not be able to do anything without your mark.
- At first they said it would cost 14 billion to implement. But many politicians raised a big stink over that, so then they said... okay, it's just 9 billion. Our governemnt will stick it to the consumer every chance it gets. I don't mind the card. It will make it harder for illegals and terrorists to steal identity. Right now many Americans are sharing their SS numbers with an illegal immigrant.. and don't know it. You could be one of those people.
- Considering that all this act is going to do is tighten up the standards for driver's licenses so that a DL is a reliable form of identification - why should we have a problem with it? BTW - isn't it a sensible idea that people be required to prove who they really are in the conditions you mentioned?
- You can call your representative. States like Maine and New Hampshire have decided not to issue Real ID cards. Try and create some action, perhaps you can find like minded people in your town and try to make your governor affirm his commitment to not issue mandatory identification cards. As for the other people, why are you guys so quick to give up your civil liberties? The government already has so much information on us. Why do we have to be under the control of the government?
- who ever is for this are the same people who would have believed Hitler.
- Jeez..... read about it and all that it entails. It is all of the same old same old but you just have to prove who you are. I suppose this would require thinking and reading.
