Fema Employment

How do you get your rights protected when dealing with a Federal Employer?

I have been subjected to numerous discriminatory actions by my Federal Employer, which violate my rights under FECA, FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, Whistleblower Act. Yet according to the "other" Federal agencies that oversee compliance with these laws..........the employer must "confess" to the discrimination, or NO discrimination exists. So far, I have been unable to locate an attorney that will take on my Federal Employer in court, even with most of these actions being documented. Several of these law violations even permit fines, and possible jail time for the offenders...........yet not able to locate a Labor/Employment lawyer willing to take the case.

  1. If the laws allow for fines and jail times, one of the reasons a lawyer doesn't want the case is that the laws don't allow for a private cause of action and an award of damages. The other reason is probably because the lawyers and the other agencies see you as being full of crap and being paranoid and finding violations where none exist based on your own interpretation of the facts and the law. Just a guess
  2. I'm a Fed employee too and I HATE my human resources department, they're useless.Go to OPM.gov and do a search for discrimination, hopefully there'll be something on there to help you. You should have an "advocate" or something, I know we do in my branch of the Fed gov, although I have absolutely no idea who the heck it is or how to conatct them. Good luck.
