Oklahoma targets illegal immigrants with tough new law?

By Ismael Estrada and Keith Oppenheim CNN TULSA, Oklahoma (CNN) -- Weeks of protests, rallies, lawsuits and candlelight vigils failed to stop a new state immigration bill -- HB 1804 -- from becoming the law in Oklahoma. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/11/02/oklahoma.immigration/index.html This new law makes it a felony for U.S. citizens to knowingly provide shelter, transportation or employment to illegal immigrants. I for one am glad to see this law put in place. Will other states do so as well since the federal government can't seem to get the job done?

  1. Vote Ron Paul, he'll take care of illegals. ToM Tancredo as VP.
  2. I say about time!I only hope the appeal lawsuit doesn't win. What would any other country do with an invasion from another country? Now they say it's more like 14 million.
  3. I agree with the law and I hope Pennsylvania adopts it. When immigration does sweeps here, the employers are more afraid than the illegals. Employers get cheap labor and no trouble from illegals. A lot of the illegals get sent back to their country, but they come back to the US and get new jobs. Anything we can do to ease the strain of illegals is fine by me.
  4. That's a good start! Lets do this in all other states.
  5. I agree. Its the most important thing on the ballot. Border security. Texas and arizona need to get tough also. We can dream about california doing anything about it.
