How will I be able to tell the difference between you (the US) and all the other facist/ communist nations of the world ? Will you then outlaw other newpapers from other nations that don't share your view of world events (not that Americans ever actually read them (at least the majority of them) .? Wil the camp in Cuab be called a reducation center ? Now that the US Secret service (SS) is reading your e-mail at will will at one point someone walk around asking you for your "papers sir ) ? Now that there is a federal Homeland security card in the works will that have to be presented to all law enforcement officers upon demand ? The rough equlivilant of the commie papers please sir? Just how far down the facist road are you guys going to go for "security" of course ? And whose job will it be to watch the watchers? You're right, America does to be on the road to fascism, but please don't get fascism and communism confused, they are exact opposites, no country claiming to be communist is truly communist, usualy it is more closer to fascism. But like you said we do seem to be becoming more totalitarian with every law passed, hopefully the people will get angry enough, and then...revolution.
6. Every country has the right and responsibility to keep itself and its citizens safe. Every country has the right to protect their own borders. It is time the US started protecting our borders.
7. While your interpretation of the situation is a little extreme, the public in general is guilty of a lot in this. They are guilty of wanting to eat their cake and have it too. Freedom is a thing of beauty and I for one love what I have here. However, people want security as well. Those two goals are mutually exclusive in the way that one cannot have complete freedom and complete security at the same time. A bit of one must be sacrificed to have some of the other.
