why is ontario second career geared to help the government? According to the government, if you have an Az licence you are considered to have a post secondary education, regardless of whether you have recieved any training or not in college, if it says az on your licence, you have post secondary. Meanwhile many people get the licence without any training at all. Now here is the funny part, you can get the licence legally without training from a college as long as you pass the required tests. If they made trucking like other trades you would be required to have college training in order to get the licence. The reason why they do not require the training is because they know full well what would happen, the rates of transport would go up and it would make it a more rewarding career, not too mention let people behind the wheel with training. For years our government has lobbyed to keep the rates down in transport.And now they are willing to put people through the second career program to help them get an az licence, at the cost of the publics money. But where are the wages for the drivers ? That is not their concern. Their concern is to pretend there is a demand for drivers, really when there isnt. This way transport costs are lowered even more. Now for someone who has 2o years experience with an az licence, watches opportunities dwindle, rates drop and absolutely no future. each year the penalties are increased and fees and renewals, the list is huge of the fines you can face.In my opinion, the rates are so low now as a driver, combined with the risks it pays to just work at home depot. Atleast you dont have to worry of your own personal insurance going up because of an incident while you are working. Also, your whole career is over if there is an accident then what ? Well i guess since you have a post secondary education, lol you can get a government job lol

On what specific income does the Canadian government calculate Income Tax ? For the first five months of 2006 I on Welfare Assistance in Ontario, and received about $ 2600 from January until June , but then I moved to Quebec, and earned $8,500 until the end of the year at a self-employed job. Will the Canadian government look at that as a total of $ 10,600.00 total earnings to be taxed , or will I only be taxed on what I earned by my work ?

What < 1yr training program would open the most jobs for me in the IT field? I asked this question in anothing catagory with no answer, I'll try it here. Short version: I need to know of training programs (be they diplomas, certificates or whatever) offered by any school (university, vocation, whatever) that will last less than one year, that will open up the most jobs for me in the computer industry. Long version: I was just downsized from my job as a data entry clerk after 2 years of service, and have no post-secondary education to fall back on and no money to goto school. The Ontario government offered to pay for some 'training', but only if it lasts less than one year AND they want -me- to prove that after that training (whatever program I take) ends, I'll have skills that employers want. Furthermore, they want me to prove these jobs exist now. So, my question is, what program (MCSE, NSE, whatever) will give me marketable skills to the largest number of employers. Thanks in advance. what information will come up about someone on a police record check (PRC) and a criminal record check (CRC)? I recently finished university and have applied for several jobs in ontario some of them require police record checks (PRC) and some requiring (CRC). I understand the difference that (PRC) is required for working with vulnerable populations. I am concerned because I have two instances which might show up. The first involves an incident where I was arrested for break and enter and sexual assault over a huge misunderstanding and was released 12 hours later without finger prints or charges. The second was were I was detained at a canadian airport because they found traces of cocaine when my wallet was swabbed. I had a friend who had a drug addiction and I would always carry his cards and money to prevent him from spending it on drugs and I guess they found traces of it on me. Does anyone know whether these two instances will come up? I would hate to be unable to work or pass security clearances at government jobs over either of these two very unfortunate circumstances.

Canadian Business Tax - percentage? Last year I started a business on the side in which I am the sole proprietor. Fortunately it has now has become a full time job for me. As I'm setting aside the income I'm making from my business, I'm hoping if someone could tell me what percentage of my income will be owed to the government? Or does this depend on my tax bracket? I'm also an Ontario resident if that helps. Cashing a check in anothers name? I'm going to try to make a long story short. At the begining of the month the bank always takes out 350 dollars for a loan of my BF's. This month something flu bared the computer and they accidentally took out 3500..needless to say that depleted his account. I need legal help :(? Ok, I think im about to have an anxiety attack. I'm so confused. I need help against my employer. Legal aid just told me awhile ago, they can't help me, and the Law students can't help me. Nobody is able to help me. I have a Human Rights case against my employer, but they are threatening my job, saying Im dangerous, trying to get me to sign forms for consent to release medical information, demanding to know what medication I take, and now threatening to get lawyers. No I can't quit my job, I need money, and I pay 250 a month in medication, for ADHD, Anxiety, and Nocturnal Anxiety/Panic Attacks. I don't know where to turn. Someone please help me. From 1939 – 1945, Canada had contributed to the successful outcome of the war, from Canada’s Home Front, to the major battles of Italian Champaign, Dieppe and Day of Deliverance. Canada has sacrificed thousands, and helped millions, to take on Germany and Adolf Hitler, thus ending the tragic World War II. Canada had truly participated fully in the winning outcome of World War II. Not only the government policies of Canada had taken a share of the won, but to the home front as well, the women who took on men’s roles had changed lifestyles, children even taking on responsibilities. We have shown great intelligent by Canada providing us at Training camps for all nations for example, Britain and America in Oshawa Ontario, including Camp X and The British PM Muelle Chamberlain. With the soldiers we have lost in the Battles of Italian Champaign, and D-Day, no nation should ever say that we did not do as much effort as any other nation in World War II. Throughout World War II, women and children has made a Major effort to help with the war going on (The Home Font). Naturally, women had played an important role in the war. In fact Government Policies also had them start on everything. Not only did women support the injured soldiers of ours, and other nations. Women had become nurses, serving behind the front lines, and they had PUSHED, there way to be accepted in the military service. By the end of the war, Canadian women in uniform numbered 50 000, and another 4 500 women were in medical services. They were never sent in front line combat, in fact they did essential work, working as radio operators and guiding back airplanes and ships form battle missions. Some had even become welders, armourers, or worker in armed forces headquarters. Women took over farms, and helped keep farm alive, in business, at the same time making crops and food to contribute the food to the war for armies. Women had taken on men roles, and proving themselves. Without “Women’s Roles” there would not be surviving soldiers from serious injuries. Government policies has asked for women, children, and other elderly that could not go fight in the war to save food, and save anything to save for the war. The community has taken on different numbers of jobs to specify support the war, Canada had become an industrial power. During World War II, the government introduced Victory Bonds, the money going straight to the war economy, these victory bonds were Highly encouraged. Without the 2 Training Camps, most soldiers would have been dead. Camp X had save many soldiers from facing a horrific death. The Italian Campaign was Canada’s first major ground participation in the Second World War in Europe and cost 25,264 casualties, 5,900 of them fatal, over its course which, at its highest peak, saw over 76,000 Canadians serving in Italy. Not only was this one of the major battles, Canada had played a role in Day of Deliverance. (D-Day). A year before the D-Day landings in Normandy, there were the Allied invasions Italy. Canada played a major role in the Allies' first breach of Hitler's "Fortress Europe" in 1943 and 1944. Canadian soldiers defeated Hitler’s German Army but had a price to pay. The Italian Campaign, a shocking battle that cost roughly about 6,000 Canadian lives. July 10, 1943 though a bad stormy weather, the biggest invasion in history, had arrive the boot of Italy. Too many immigrants in Canada? What the hell is going on with our country? After serving in the military, and having lived in almost every province in Canada, I am left in shock. I now reside in Ontario where I am minority as a white person. Every car that passes me, every person working at the local supermarket, gas station, movie store, doctors office; all immigrants. etc.etc.etc. I don't even have one white neighbor to relate with. My neighbors are all a mix of middle east/ china/ etc. They all keep to themsleves, no one is friendly. What happened to the good times when we could all share a coffee together? True born Canadians have such a crisis with no jobs, so hey here is a brilliant plan, lets ship in large amounts of uneducated immigrants. WTF?? Only 20% of the immigrants are educated (according to the govenment stats) and will actually benefit our country. The rest come here, and land low wage jobs, then complain that they get paid crap. Some of my best friends in life are from China & Croatia. I honestly don't care what colour your skin is, but there should be a cap on the number of immigrants coming in my country when we are already in such a labour crisis. I also want to mention that the provinces that still have a majority of white population are some of the cleanest, most beautiful places in Canada. Ontario, especially LONDON, is the dirtiest, run down city I have seen in all of Canada. I do believe the MASSIVE immigrant population places a key role in this. The other day I watched a young well groomed white male come running out of a department store stealing clothing. Tags all hanging off. Within 2 minutes the police arrived and arrested him. The police were all foreigners, and it all seemed like such a bizzar scene. Now its the white man ( not the black) that is jobless, desperate and treated unfairly. Why the hell can't we all just get along? The government needs to put a cap on immigration, and those of here now need to be getting along. Do you think the immigation is out of hand?

My boss asked me to do Illegal things at work, I refused, then i got fired!. Help!? (Toronto,Ontario) I got fired from my job recently because I refused to do Illegal actions my boss forced me to do at work. I work at a private college. A small collage that is operating legally on the out side ONLY. Yet inside (at work), we apply for Employment Insurance for individuals who don't even come to school! and charge the Ontario government $17,000 for a fricken massage therapy course that they both split it's profits (between college and student)! those individuales don't even show up to school! besides all that, they also have specialized team to make phone calls and also receive phone calls from the gevernment I.E. pretending that they are other individuals to get applications accepted and funded quicker (they have many pay-as-you-go receiving cell numbers which they use to receive calls from the numbers they give out on application to the government. And above that, They hire Individuals from over seas to get them the Permanent Resident Status in Canada! these individuals don't even have any thing to do at the college they don't show up to work. they just pay taxes and get a fake letter of employment to look like they are working somewhere and this way they trick Immigration-Canada to give them working permits and eventually P.R. Cards! the college charges large sums of money for doing that! all in cash! I have proof of deceit! and i was fired for being Honest! Who can i report them to? How can i stop them from stealing the government? I don't want my job back, i just want to stop this college from operating this illegal scheme. Please help? I have proofs! This is Very Serious.

No one seems to be able to help me with my TD1 Form? I work 2 part-time jobs (in Ontario, Canada). My one job, I hardly make anything due to cutbacks on hours. BUT - my second job, I should be making over the $10,375 allotted for "tax free" by the end of this year. I need to fill out my TD1 Form and fax it in to have them take out taxes REGARDLESS of how much my paychecks are. For 2008, neither of my employers took out enough taxes, so I ended up OWING $1200 on my Income Tax Return! That did not make my happy. Upon contacting my 2nd employer to find out how to fill out this TD1 Form, NO ONE can help me! I've tried looking on the Revenue website as well, without any luck. I'm just getting SO frustrated because 2009 is almost half over with and I know they haven't taken out ANY taxes on my paychecks thus far. I DO NOT want to end up owing the government money next year!! I need to know how to fill out my TD1 Form to have taxes taken out REGARDLESS of how much my paychecks are. I just got my ODSP stub (that is my monthly income from the Provincial government) and I see that they have made me poor once again for the next entire month WHEN WILL THEY STOP MAKING ME POOR !!!!!! Ontario Budget what was in it for you ??? For me this budget stinck , seniors and income taxes have been again omitted. It is time we show them during the election this fall , they have to change the systems to have a taxes reduction according to standard of living every year,and make it a law , instead of always thinking about students. a job that has to do with buying cigarettes? i heard that there is this job that teenagers i guess who are under the age of 19 are hired by the government to go into stores and ask to buy cigarettes, and if the cashier person lets u without asking for your ID u would tell whoever you're working for, and that cashier person would get fined for selling cigarettes to minors. what is that job called and how would i apply for it? by the way if it matters i live in Ontario, in Canada.

In Ontario Canada they want to place men who cannot pay child support on a website? What do people think of this and explain how by doing this will help people pay child support. In the event of a man losing his job and falling behind in support should this be permitted.What about the persons civil lberties and what should happen if the government makes a mistake by putting somesone picture and name there. Ontario Canada Tax Questions? I have two questions... 1) i finished claiming all of my basic tuition on last years Tax's. But my friend said she went to H&R block and they called the government and asked if she had any unused credit and they said yes. What exactly are these Credits? She said it was seperate from her Tuition. it uped her refund with tuition from $800 to $2400 ... O.o She said she "THOUGHT" they mentioned it had to do with getting a job in her feild and that they told her she could not have claimed them untill she got her current job (In her feild) ANY ideas? and also what other type of Credits are there that could be claimed by myself... what are credits?? i was on unimployement for 3 and a half months if that matters due to layoffs. Also i bought a computer for work (it was a computer animation job) that i needed to do work at home. It was not stipulated in my contract that i HAD to have one. But i was told by other imployies that they claimed there's. I was on "CONTRACT" work. Sorry this is so long haha... So can i call the "Government" as ask if i have any unused Credit? if so what # should i call? 14 year old moving out help? CANADA, ONTARIO? my parents want me to move out continually telling me to go find a different house to live at, i am only 14 and dont have a job or anything to pay for rent, could i qualify for welfare or soemthing like that also if i was to go into foster care or whatever could i take all my cloths, games, musical intruments (drums,guitars) which is my life so i would want this stuff. would it be a better idea to move in with a friend although it would be weird cause my best friend's parents are divorsed and he goes to dads for 2 weeks then moms for 2 weeks so i would be there with his family for 2 weeks alone. also what are some actual jobs i could get because i need them despereatly are there any government services giving money to kids or helping them find jobs

How much $$$ should Canada kick into the pot in order to save GM, Ford and Chrysler? A whopping 582,000 direct and indirect jobs would be lost in Canada over the next five years if the ailing Big Three US auto makers shut down their Ontario operations, said a study Tuesday. If output is reduced by 50 percent, 296,000 jobs would be lost nationally, said the 11-page report prepared for the Ontario Manufacturing Council. "The economic consequences of either a partial or total shutdown of the Detroit Three are stark," said the report. "Either scenario is sufficient to push Ontario into a deep recession while the nation may barely escape one in the 50-percent reduction scenario." Initial job losses of between 157,000 and 323,000 at assembly plants, parts manufacturers and others, depending on the scenario, would rise to between 296,000 and 582,000 by 2014, said the report. The job losses would continue to mount after the first year because a weaker economy would depress investment, discourage immigration and half new housing construction, leading to a negative economic spiral. The auto sector and parts industry employ roughly 219,000 Canadians nationwide. The Big Three directly employ about 34,000 workers while overseas car makers employ just under half that number. On Friday, the Canadian and Ontario governments reached a tentative deal for a 3.4-billion Canadian dollar (2.8 billion US) bailout of Chrysler, General Motors and Ford's operations in Ontario province. But a payout is contingent on Washington's approval of a 14-billion-dollar US aid package. "If we think that the extinction of the auto industry is a national economic evolution, this report says that is a mistake," said Ontario Economic Development Minister Michael Bryant. Canadian Federal Government - Are you Fed Up with Bilingualism Too? About me: professional with 8 years of university education and four and a half years of private sector work experience. However, I want to get into the Canadian federal government because it's much easier to raise a family as a government employee. I studied French in anglophone schools from K to OAC (the old grade 13 in Ontario). I took French courses in university and privately (with Alliance Francais). But, my French is still not great. I tested a few months ago at an "A" (advanced beginner) in writing and a high "B" (intermediate) in reading. They refused to test my oral because I couldn't get a "B" in writing. I'm SOOOOO frustrated with the fact that the federal government seems to be closed to me without near perfect French. Unless I quit my job for 6 months and do nothing but study French, I don't think there's any way I can get to the levels they want me to be at. I'm very willing to learn once I'm in, but getting in is so hard. Any advice? Comments?

Would you become a 911 operator? Why? I put in for the position and had passed the 2hr Government Test (Ontario, Canada). I then went for an hour of testing and an oral interview. I think I stand a good chance at getting the position. The thing is I understand that this is not an ordinary job and I am apprehensive about taking the position IF IT is offered to me. It is great money but starts on call. All I have to do is work 2 shifts to make the same money that I am making now as a supervisor in a call centre.

How do I pay off my $10 000 debt as soon as possible ? I have a steady part time job that I do mornings on weekdays. My pay is $ 12 per hour. I am looking to find a full time job on top of the part time that will pay no less then $ 10 per hour. I know this is not the right section, but is there any way I can get government assistance if..? Hi, my 16 year old brother has been bugging to move in with me. Unfortunately my mom is a horrible person, who last year decided to become a whore and start popping more babies out. She now has 5 children with 4 different guys and is on the hunt for another one. no joke. My grandparents raised me most of my life, but unfortunately because my brother was 4 years younger they were not able to get custody of him at the time. Anyways, he is my only real FULL brother of the 5 kids and I love him dearly, unfortunately with having a young baby and being in school full time and living off just my boyfriends income, we are just getting by now. We would have room for him, but just not enough money for the extra booed, higher bills and any basic needs that he has. Can I have two or more Provincial drivers licenses? For example, I live in Ontario, and am currently looking for a job as a firefighter in British Columbia, and Alberta. All the applications ask for proof of a valid drivers license from their respective governments.
